What are those morons trying to do by cutting the electricity for 1 hour, daily, on various areas?
So far, I know that these areas have been hit :: Khaldiya, Yarmouk, Abdullah Al-Salem, Hawalli, Jabriya, Farwaniya (know of more? let me know)

That includes the traffic lights as well! (This shows how stupid those civil & electrical engineers are when they designed the city's traffic lines)
Why don't they just come over to our houses and burn our appliences, computers, and our food?!
The Counter Attack
I went to Hawalli today, before the blackout, and gambled my luck hoping that the power would stay on, in Hawalli, till I get back home.
I got myself an Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS), which, in short, acts as a battery immediately after a blackout, keeping your computers safe from sudden death!
The one I bought is NeTYS, the 600 module. It gives me 15 minutes to shutdown (quite enough time). It's worth 23 K.D.
There were cheaper kinds and can hold to more time, but they lacked one feature I was after: A USB interface. That's right, a USB interface! You can connect it to the PC and monitor the battery's life, and with their free software (available at their site), you can let the computer auto-shutdown if the battery is going low.
As of this writing, I'm still trying to configure the software...

If they're going to kill the power, why don't they do it at dawn; when the weather is still cool and there's enough sunlight to see. :/

I'm glad it was all at afternoon time... I wonder till when this crap will continue :/

Not only your data would be comprimised, but your hardware as well.
Depending on your luck, you might the power supply (best cases), a hard disk, the motherboard, RAMs, graphics card, modem, monitor, ...etc.
I was lucky that nothing happened to my PC nor operating system in both times!
